Dear Bob,
My cruise on the Canadian Empress from Kingston
to Quebec city ended two days ago, but the
memories will remain for a long time to come
-- very pleasant memories, I might add.

I
took extensive notes during the cruise and will
have to condense everthing into 1,750 words for
the final version of an article. However, I can
state readily that what I write will present a very
positive picture of the ship, her crew and the itinerary.
I have taken cruises in ships large, middle-sized
and small over the years, and although I do not
claim any special expertise, I do know a good cruise
when I see one.
You have assembled an excellent crew -- but in saying
this I realize that I am telling you what you already
know. The ship herself exudes a warmth that is immediately
noticeable. The itinerary is, in my opinion, excellent,
offering attractive scenery (Thousand Islands),
technical accomplishments (St. Lawrence Seaway),
history (Upper Canada Village and Fort Wellington),
cities large (Montreal) and small (Trois
Rivieres)--I could go on and on, but you get the
idea.
We had a congenial group of passengers on my cruise.
They got along well with each other and they got
along well with the crew. I listened carefully to
their comments and they were well pleased with the
ship. Food came in for particular praise -- as it
will from me when I get around to writing the article.
The entertainment was enjoyable.
Those six nights went by all too quickly, which
is, I suppose, the sign of a successful cruise.
I gather that you have already begun preparing for
the next season and I wish you every success.
Yours Sincerely,
Mr. Turner - Editor
